The hosts of ABC’s “The View” routinely panic about policies implemented and actions taken by President Donald Trump and his administration, but Thursday’s broadcast took a strange turn as they fretted about efforts he’d made since returning to the presidency to redecorate the Oval Office.
Cohost Joy Behar complained that Trump had become “the redecorator-in-chief,” claiming she did not even trust the president with his famous Diet Coke button, much less the “nuclear button.”
“He’s like the interior-decorator-in-chief now. And forget the nuclear button, I don’t even trust him with the button that gets him a Diet Coke. So … he has plans to completely retool the Kennedy Center also, have you heard that? Is there no safe place to go anymore with this guy?” Behar asked. “You can’t even go — a gym, that’s good.”

Behar recalled a video of former first lady Jackie Kennedy giving a tour of the Oval Office, noting that at the time, people had mocked that too — primarily because Kennedy had been whispering throughout the video.
“She always said that she whispered so that people would listen, so they would have to lean in and pay attention,” cohost Sunny Hostin explained, claiming that she often did the same.
“I think I’m going deaf when I’m with Sunny talking,” Behar agreed.
Alyssa Farah Griffin jumped in to mock the president’s aesthetic, saying it was “somewhere between like Pablo Escobar and Liberace. I mean, he likes a gold tchotchke, we know this. The decor on that mantle, it was a lot …”

Behar has a breakdown over Trump’s new decorations, which every president has done. She claims he’s acting like a “king” by redecorating:

Griffin went on to claim that Trump was publicly talking about plans to revamp the Kennedy Center and the Rose Garden so that no one would notice predictions claiming that inflation was likely to rise — and argued that the image of a golden White House would not sit well to Americans who were struggling with day-to-day costs.
“People are claiming that they’re losing money, they’re losing their jobs, they might lose their Social Security, and he’s gilding the lily in the White House!” Behar exclaimed.
