The hosts of ABC’s “The View” — with one exception — celebrated President Joe Biden’s surprise decision to issue a blanket pardon to his embattled son Hunter, absolving him of any and all federal crimes that he may have committed over an 11-year period.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg began the conversation during Monday’s broadcast — less than 24 hours after the White House announced that the pardon was coming — and she dismissed criticisms of the move by saying it was simply “a president’s prerogative” and should not matter because “we have a convicted felon as president.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin — the odd woman out — argued that Biden’s historically unprecedented decision to pardon his own son gave credence to critics who said there was a different justice system for the elites. She also suggested that she had wanted to ask Biden about a potential pardon for Hunter when he was on the show in recent weeks but was pushed away from doing so by the network.

Co-host Sunny Hostin suggested that there was no fault in the pardon itself — and that the hypocrites were the people who believed Biden was abusing his power by granting it. She also reverted to Goldberg’s argument, suggesting that because the American people had elected “a convicted felon” like Trump, Biden’s abuse of power no longer mattered.

WATCH:

Hostin also argued that Biden wasn’t really lying about not pardoning Hunter, claiming that he had intended not to until Trump was elected. “I think one of the reasons why he didn’t admit it earlier was because he didn’t know the felon-in-chief would become the next president,” she said.

Ana Navarro weighed in next, referring to Hunter as Biden’s “only surviving son” and saying she had been personally lobbying Biden to pardon Hunter for some time.

WATCH:

“Hunter, your dad has given you a great, great gift, the gift of freedom, and taking this weight off your shoulders,” Navarro continued. “I hope now Hunter gives his dad a gift, the gift of being a good son, a good father.”

Navarro left out the fact that Hunter Biden has a child he hardly acknowledges.

Goldberg backtracked to defend Biden again for reneging on his promise not to pardon Hunter, arguing, “I think Biden had no intentions of pardoning Hunter,” until Trump was elected.

WATCH:

“He’s the president, the sitting president, and he can do whatever he wants to,” Goldberg scolded, adding, “I can’t believe this is what’s freaking people out!”
