After The Daily Wire published an exclusive report revealing that the Biden administration was racing to sell off parts of the border wall before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, Texas GOP Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick fiercely declared his state was prepared to bid on every piece being sold and then give it directly to Trump.
“Trump made clear during his campaign that he intends to finish construction of the border wall, making use of the materials that have remained untouched at the border since President Joe Biden took office in 2021. If the material brought to the border during his first term is sold off, it will significantly delay any progress on one of Trump’s flagship campaign promises at the border,” The Daily Wire reported on Thursday, adding:
The auction website shows that sales occurred as recently as December 4 for precisely the types of materials being pulled off the border. GovPlanet has online auctions set for Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 for more of the border wall material, which is listed on the company’s website as “32.91’ X 7.91’ Steel Bollard Wall Sections w/Grout.” The bidding for each section of wall panels is set to begin at only $5.00, according to the website.
“We mean business in Texas, and Tom Homan means business and President Trump means business,” Patrick told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham. “And I don’t know if you heard the latest today, Laura, but Joe Biden is now hauling off the border wall that’s been lying down for years and he wants to auction it off starting at $5 apiece.”

“Message their White House right now: I will bid on all of that wall and we will buy it in Texas and we will give it to Donald Trump,” he asserted. “So I’m gonna find out first thing in the morning where we are going to take the bid. I’ve got a billion dollars in my pocket to do it. I write the budget with (Texas state) Senator Joan Huffman. We have the money. We’re gonna have about $6 billion in our budget for border security. We’ll buy it.”
“Dan, don’t drive up the cost,” Ingraham quipped. “Don’t drive up the cost. It’s only five bucks apiece of the wall.”
“I know, and I will go in and buy it all,” Patrick replied. “I’m not going to drive up the —”
“What does this tell you about the Biden people,” Ingraham interjected. “They’re essentially greenlighting – they want more people coming in.”
“I told you, they’re despicable,” Patrick charged. “They’re despicable what they’re doing to the American people. And the American people obviously aren’t gonna tolerate it, that’s why they were thrown out. But the idea – we’ve been trying to buy this wall from them for four years and they wouldn’t sell it to us.”
“And you know what?” he suggested. “I’m gonna check in with our Department of Public Safety. Maybe we need to start pulling over these trucks to be sure they don’t have too much weight on those trucks. Maybe these trucks need to be slowed down. We need to do everything we can in Texas to stop them. The taxpayers paid for this and they want to stop President Trump in 38 or 39 days from rebuilding the wall.”
“The legacy of Joe Biden, he lets off his son; he’s letting off all these criminals; he’s doing everything he can and with these blue state governors and mayors to destroy this country,” Patrick pronounced. “They are traitors to this country, leaving terrorists, leaving murderers, leaving rapists in this country and now he wants to sabotage this president before he takes office. It is disgraceful and disgusting. He will go down as the worst, most despicable president in the history of this country because no one has done more to damage this country and hurt American citizens.”
