Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs star Harrison Butker has now endorsed not one, but two political candidates after speaking out in support of former President Donald Trump.
Speaking on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” from a campaign event in Missouri for the reelection of Republican Sen. Josh Hawley, Butker voiced his support for Hawley and said he was also endorsing the most “pro-life” president, former President Trump, the New York Post reported.
“I’m supporting the president that’s going to be the most pro-life president…Donald Trump. The [Pro-life] topic is the most crucial topic for me,” Butker said.

“I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn, and that’s what we should prioritize…” he added. “I think you have to vote for whoever is gonna be the most pro-life and we have to be prayerful men that put God first. I think that’s what’s going to be best for our country.”
Butker’s comments were similar to ones he made in a fundraising email from Hawley to his supporters, in which the Chiefs player announced that for the first time in his life he was endorsing a politician, as previously reported.
“This is Harrison Butker — you may know me as a three-time World Champion kicker, but that’s just my day job,” Butker said in the email shared by Hawley. “At my core I am a husband, a father, and most importantly a Christian who cares about the future of our nation.”
“I want to tell you about my friend Josh Hawley,” he added. “In a time when our nation is at a crossroads, Senator Hawley stands strong for many of the values that matter most to me and my family.”
“He’s not just a Senator; he’s a devout Christian, a family man, and a fighter for so much we hold dear,” the message continued. “Josh Hawley is relentless in defending religious rights, fighting for the Constitution, and standing up for the most vulnerable among us—the unborn.”
The Chiefs star said Hawley’s “commitment to the pro-life movement” is one reason he’s supporting him because he’s “the kind of leader who doesn’t back down when it matters most.”
The NFL kicker made headlines earlier this year after he gave a commencement address at Benedictine College, a Catholic university in Kansas, in which he praised his wife for being a “homemaker,” called out President Joe Biden’s support for abortion, and criticized LGBT “Pride month.”
The usual leftist stars slammed the comments and a Change.org petition was started calling for the three-time Super Bowl champion to be dismissed from the team. During his appearance with Ingraham, Butker said he didn’t regret his speech, the New York Post noted.
