Republican lawmakers overwhelmingly condemned a violent pro-Hamas riot in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday where far-Left extremists were furious that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was speaking to Congress.

The extremists tore down American flags and burned them while chanting “Allahu Akbar” and waving Hamas terrorist flags. Numerous videos posted online also showed them attacking law enforcement officials.

Netanyahu mocked the woke protesters during his speech to Congress: “When the tyrants of Tehran, who hang gays from cranes and murder women for not covering their hair, are praising, promoting, and funding you, you have officially become Iran’s useful idiots. Some of these protesters hold up signs proclaiming ‘Gays for Gaza.’ They might as well hold up signs saying ‘chickens for KFC.’”

The United States Park Police (USPP) released a statement saying that officers had arrested eight extremists at the riot at Columbus Circle because they “damaged and destroyed park property, including vandalizing statues and fountains, tearing down and burning flags, and starting several small fires.”

Dozens of Republican lawmakers condemned the violent riot as it was happening, including some of the following:

Pro-terror, anti-Israel agitators are vandalizing federal property, removing American flags, and replacing them with Palestinian flags steps away from the United States Capitol. This is inexcusable, and I expect them to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. https://t.co/zyz078xSS0

This morning my colleagues and I introduced a bill to deport any foreigner involved in violence and vandalism on federal property.

The actions of the pro-Hamas lunatics at Union Station in DC are shameful, and anyone on a visa who took part should have it revoked immediately. pic.twitter.com/A0I2FVmeh8

Terrorists. https://t.co/1IPevIZLi8

Despicable.

THIS is the Democrat base.

Will Biden-Harris condemn it? pic.twitter.com/QBveYtkpYm

I fought and bled for the American Flag. My friends lost their lives in battle for the American Flag. And when they came home, the American Flag was draped over their caskets.

Yet, the people Kamala Harris is courting burn the American Flag. Shame on them. pic.twitter.com/8q742ZS3Ut

Burning the American flag in the name of Hamas—a regime that rapes women, tortures dissidents, and uses children as human shields—is outrageous and reprehensible. https://t.co/Wf8MvsMU5y

Anti-Christian American hippies supporting Jihadist terrorists, burning our flag and chanting anti-American crap. At our Capital.

I just took this picture from my Senate office.

Less than a mile from the U.S. Capitol, pro-Hamas protestors have taken down and burned AMERICAN FLAGS at Union Station to fly Palestinian flags.

Absolutely SHAMEFUL. pic.twitter.com/jwfZHlb9xZ

— Coach Tommy Tuberville (@SenTuberville) July 24, 2024

Imagine what would happen if someone burned a Palestinian flag in their country.

Despite what you might see from a fringe group of radicals, America stands with our ally Israel. https://t.co/u7GYbH0ZCI

Harris and Biden’s America is full of chaos and a country that is often unrecognizable.

A second Trump presidency can’t come soon enough!

This ↓ un-American behavior should be condemned by all. https://t.co/cWlf75jwAY

The anti-American and anti-Semitic hatred on display in D.C. today is shameful. pic.twitter.com/GPVLbEHaia

This is disgraceful and should offend every single American, especially those who fought and died to protect our great nation. https://t.co/eN9a3Z8Aak

You can tell a lot about people by who their enemies are.

They aren’t p̶r̶o̶t̶e̶s̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ rioting for freedom. They’re rioting for Islamic fascism. https://t.co/TCal4r9Jv1

— Rep. Dan Crenshaw (@RepDanCrenshaw) July 24, 2024

Few Democrats, however, had the courage to speak out against the violent riot.

Those who spoke out included:

I never imagined seeing the flag of a terror group holding eight Americans hostage for 292 days waved in the streets of our nation’s Capitol.

Over a million Americans have given their lives to protect that right – including my own father. https://t.co/Wsf8dOYtU5

— Dean Phillips (@deanbphillips) July 24, 2024

This is not peaceful protest. It is blatant antisemitism and a clear call for violence against Jewish people.

Hamas is a terrorist organization. Their stated mission is to kill all Jews, and they are still holding innocent people hostage. https://t.co/19OgPrhBVm

— Rep. Lois Frankel (@RepLoisFrankel) July 24, 2024

This is disgraceful. If your idea of protest is aligning yourself with a brutal terrorist group, you have lost your way. You are terrorizing Jews and you are doing great harm to the people you’re claiming to support. https://t.co/ViPNGmNSuD
