Macaulay Culkin admits that when the Illinois house from his famous 1990 Christmas movie “Home Alone” went up for sale, he considered buying it, knowing exactly what he’d do with it if he got it.

Speaking at a screening of the classic holiday movie at the Rosemont Theater near Chicago, the 44-year-old actor told the audience when the home that served as a backdrop for the movie recently went up for sale-he “had half a mind to buy it — just for giggles,” The New York Times reported.

Culkin, who early in his career famously played 8-year-old Kevin McCallister in the film, said he didn’t plan to move his fiancée Brenda Song and their two toddlers into the Winnetka, Ill, home, but instead had dreams of turning it into a “movie fun house,” the outlet noted.

The childhood star said he thought it would be fun to give fans a chance to reenact some of the unforgettable scenes in the movie, like when Kevin slid down a staircase while riding on a sled.

Ultimately, Culkin said the reality of his life prevented him from making it happen. “I got kids. I’m busy, man,” the actor said.

The screening was part of a series of recent screenings he put on for the “‘Home Alone’: A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkin” tour this season, complete with an audience Q&A session for fans.
