Kate Beckinsale has finally revealed the reason for her mysterious weeks-long hospital stay earlier this year and admitted that she lost “a lot of weight from stress and grief.”

In a post on Instagram, the 50-year-old actress hit back at comments from trolls about her body after one person wrote, “Go do some squats [katebeckinsale] I think [your] a** ran away,” US Weekly reported.

“No, actually. I watched my stepfather [British TV director Roy Battersby] die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly,” she responded to the commenter.

Beckinsale said she was “in the hospital for six weeks because the grief had ‘burned a hole’ in my esophagus, which made me vomit copious amounts of blood.”

“I found eating very hard and I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father so I’m not really concerned about what you think about my a**,” the “Serendipity” star wrote.

“Maybe you should worry about your own f**king a**,” the actress added. “I suggest shoving something up it — like a large pineapple or a brick.”

In May, Beckinsale slammed plastic surgery rumors following her hospital stay after she posted several teary-eyed “no context hospital” pictures months earlier on social media that honored her mom Judy Loe, as previously reported.

“Every time I post anything — and by the way, this has been the case since I was about 30 — I am accused of having had unrecognizable surgery/using Botox using fillers/being obsessed with looking younger, and it’s really such a tiresome and subtly vicious way to bully a person,” Beckinsale wrote on Instagram.

“I don’t actually do any of those things — I’ve even gone to the trouble of having a plastic surgeon categorically state that I don’t and haven’t, and still, every time there’s a chorus of ‘my God, you’re unrecognizable,’” she added. “‘Oh my God PLASTIC, oh my God, you don’t even look like yourself anymore,’ it happens constantly and it’s usually women that are doing it.”

She closed out her post noting that she’s fully aware that even saying all this “will have absolutely no effect” on those bullying her.

The “Click” star’s post comes after her family’s loss of her stepfather. He died in January of a “massive stroke” while battling cancer, Page Six noted. He was 87.

At the time, Beckinsale shared a video of her stepfather and wrote on social media, “I have no words yet . Thank you [katebeckinsale_slovakia2] for making this beautiful thing. I fought for you with everything I had. Oh Roy, I am so sorry I lost.”
