House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has vowed to identify every single Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who engages in raids while wearing a face mask — even though, according to acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, they’re wearing the masks to protect their families.
After weeks of facing death threats and having their photos and personal information published on the internet, Lyons confirmed that ICE agents have resorted to wearing face masks in order to avoid added risks.

“People are out there taking photos of the names, their faces, and posting them online with death threats to their family and themselves,” Lyons explained.
Jeffries seemed unconcerned with the real reason that ICE agents had opted to cover their faces, and instead claimed that their efforts to enforce federal immigration law were “engaged in … aggressive overreach” and suggested the masks were simply an effort to avoid being held accountable for that.

This is not the Soviet Union. We’re not behind the Iron Curtain. This is not the 1930s. And every single one of them, no matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes, will, of course, be identified.”
