She’s slated to sing after Vice President-elect J.D. Vance is sworn in, and before Trump takes his oath of office.
Trump’s inauguration in 2017 featured performances from the Radio City Rockettes, 3 Doors Down, Toby Keith, Big & Rich, and Jackie Evancho, a former runner-up on “America’s Got Talent.”

Performers at President Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021 included Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, and Garth Brooks, per The Hill.
Underwood is one of the best-selling artists of all time after catapulting to fame following her big win on “Idol” in 2005. She has remained quiet on her political leanings in the past, telling the Guardian in 2019 that she tries to “stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins.”
“I feel like more people try to pin me places politically,” she said at the time. “Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it, like it’s black and white. And it’s not like that.”
Underwood’s husband, retired NHL player Mike Fisher, has been more open with potentially divisive political opinions. He wrote on Instagram, “I stand with [Aaron Rodgers],” when the NFL quarterback came out publicly against COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
