The FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) slammed former President Joe Biden in a statement on Monday for commuting the sentence of a convicted cop killer who murdered two FBI agents.

During his final minutes in office, Biden commuted Leonard Peltier’s sentence, much to the shock of the law enforcement community.

Peltier was responsible for the murders of FBI Special Agents Jack Coler and Ronald Williams.

The FBIAA said it was “outraged” by the “last-second, disgraceful act by then-President Biden, which does not change Peltier’s guilt but does release him from prison.”

The group called the commutation “cowardly” and said it “lacks accountability.”

“It is a cruel betrayal to the families and colleagues of these fallen Agents and is a slap in the face of law enforcement,” the group said. “Agents Coler and Williams gave their lives in service to this nation, and their families continue to bear the heavy burden of that sacrifice.”

The group noted that Peltier “has never expressed remorse for his actions.”

“Special Agents Coler and Williams were stolen from their families, robbed of the chance to share precious time and milestones with their loved ones,” the statement said. “Leonard Peltier should not have been granted a mercy he so cruelly denied to the Coler and Williams families.”

The FBIAA said it looked forward to dealing with new leadership in Washington, D.C., to ensure criminals and cop killers remain locked up in prison.
