Actor Daniel Day-Lewis retired from acting seven years ago, but he’s coming back to the big screen to star in a film directed by his son.

The 67-year-old Academy Award-winner will take on the main role in the upcoming project “Anemone,” which he co-wrote with Ronan Day-Lewis. The film is about fathers, sons, and brothers, per The Hollywood Reporter.

“We could not be more excited to partner with a brilliant visual artist in Ronan Day-Lewis on his first feature film alongside Daniel Day-Lewis as his creative collaborator,” Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski said. “They have written a truly exceptional script, and we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences alongside the team at Plan B.”

Day-Lewis has been described as one of the greatest actors in the world. Over the course of his career, he’s received numerous accolades, including three Academy Awards, four BAFTA Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards. The London-born Hollywood star even received a knighthood for services to drama in 2014.
