Channing Tatum explained why he’s done taking on what he called “fat roles” after taking his body on a rollercoaster over the last year as he showed off some massive weight loss.

In a series of pictures he posted on Instagram, the 44-year-old actor showed the fluctuating weight his body has had for a variety of roles he filmed in 2024 compared to a current snap of today showing him fit.

“We back up! Lol. 1st photo is today 205 [pounds],” Tatum captioned his post.

“2nd photo 235 [pounds] for a movie called ‘Josephine,’” he added, noting the 30-pound weight difference in the two snaps. “Then went to 3rd photo which is 172 [pounds] for a movie ‘Roofman.’”

“I’m so grateful for my genetics,” he added. “Grateful for my chef/nutritionist/witch. Grateful for my trainer. I couldn’t make these big swings in my weight without you guys.”

“But I won’t be doing any more fat roles haha,” the “Magic Mike” actor continued. “It’s too hard on the body and too hard to take off now. But damn when I look at these pics it’s just wild what the human body and will can do.”

The comments weren’t that different from what he said during his appearance three years ago on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” when he talked about struggling to stay fit.

“Truly I don’t know how people that work a nine to five actually stay in shape because it’s my full time job and I can barely do it,” Tatum said. “But you workout twice a day, you have to eat completely right at a certain time. It’s a specific thing.”

He also admitted when he was younger being able to “fluctuate” his weight for various movie roles was so much easier. “Now, I can’t get it off as easy.”

Tatum recently made headlines when an insider spoke to People about how he was doing following his split in October 2024 from fiance actress Zoe Kravitz, after the two dated for three years.

The source talked about Tatum dating again after he stepped out with model Inka Williams at a pre-Oscars party.

“They met through friends. She’s great,” the source said. “She has her own life. She’s young, but seems older.”

“Channing’s doing well,” the insider added. “[Inka] makes him happy. He’s reuniting with Zoë [Kravitz] later this spring for another movie project. It shouldn’t be too awkward — they ended things on okay terms.”
