Two radio stations confirmed on Saturday that they were given questions by Biden officials ahead of their interviews with President Joe Biden this week as the administration fights for its survival following Biden’s disastrous debate performance last week against former President Donald Trump.
The questions reportedly were drafted by officials at the White House and were then sent to the radio stations by Biden’s presidential campaign.
Andrea Lawful-Sanders, host of “The Source” on WURD in Philadelphia, told CNN that “the questions were sent to me for approval. I approved them.”
“I got several questions, eight of them, and the four that were chosen were the ones that I approved,” she added.

Biden was asked similar questions during an interview with Earl Ingram, host of “The Earl Ingram Show” in Milwaukee, who also interviewed the president this week.
“Yes, I was given some questions for Biden,” Ingram told ABC News. “I didn’t get a chance to ask him all the things I wanted to ask.”
He said that he was given five questions from Biden officials and ended up asking four of them.
Biden campaign spokesperson Lauren Hitt, who used to work for far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), claimed: “It’s not at all an uncommon practice for interviewees to share topics they would prefer. These questions were relevant to the news of the day – the president was asked about this debate performance as well as what he’d delivered for black Americans.”
“We do not condition interviews on acceptance of these questions, and hosts are always free to ask the questions they think will best inform their listeners,” she claimed.
Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt responded to the news by noting that the efforts by Biden officials to control the questions that were asked is definitely not normal.
“I’ve hosted on radio since 1990, conducted tens of thousands of interviews over the decades,” Hewitt posted on X. “Very common to get a request for topics that I’ll be raising. Not common but not unheard of to get a nudge from staff that the guest would like to discuss X, Y, or Z. I’ve never received a list of questions to ask. Never.”
