Barstool founder Dave Portnoy made it clear he’s furious with Democrats “hijacking” democracy after President Joe Biden announced he was out of the race and then endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
In a post on Monday on Instagram, Portnoy wrote about how “infuriating” it is to “listen to the left call” former President Donald Trump a “threat to Democracy when they have literally trampled on democracy” by not holding a primary and appointing Harris, comparing it to something that would happen in a “third world country.”
“I’m a libertarian,” Portnoy said. “I’m very much pro-choice … I’m not religious at all. So, there’s a lot on the Right that I don’t agree with … but I f***ing hate the extreme Left. And they are reminding me why I cannot vote for them.”
“And I can not vote for Kamala [Harris],” he added. “Because not even that they are trotting out Kamala now and that they whacked Joe Biden like I said they were gonna. … They hijacked democracy. No other way to say it.”
“You know Kamala, news flash, ran for president in 2020. You know how many votes she got? Zero.” Portnoy continued, pointing out how disliked Harris was as a candidate. “And I guess she’s never going to have to get a real vote because she’s been hand-picked on purpose by the people who have been running Joe for the past 2-3 years. Now they are going to try to run her. It’s disgusting. It’s a hijacking of democracy.”
Portnoy said what really set him off was seeing leftist filmmaker/actor Rob Reiner’s comment that “Democracy will survive” now that Biden was out of office and Harris was running.
“The Democrats and the Left, the way they s*** on our face and tell us it’s 80 [degrees] and sunny is so infuriating,” the Barstool founder said. “Just admit you hijacked democracy. You hate him [Trump] so much you’re willing to trample on democracy. Steal the vote from the American public. The most, supposedly, important right an American has, the right to vote … you have stolen it from the Democratic Party.”

“You have said, ‘You don’t get to choose who runs for president, we do, a group of elite, small people are going to handpick and shove down your throat who you vote for,’” he added. “Just admit that. But this ‘Democracy is saved’ and ‘America is saved,’ it’s the lowest point for democracy in my lifetime.”
“Just say you hate f***ing Trump so much you’re willing to do whatever it takes to beat Trump and it doesn’t matter what rights you steal, stomp on … you’re willing to do it,” Portnoy continued, suggesting that if the Left was honest about what they were doing, he might have an ounce of respect for them.
Portnoy previously made headlines when he said that it was no accident “Democrats agreed to let Biden debate Trump,” suggesting it was the party’s way of removing him from the 2024 presidential ticket.
