President Donald Trump signed multiple executive orders on Monday night inside the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. where his presidential inaugural parade was held due to extremely cold weather conditions.

The first executive order that Trump signed rescinded 78 executive orders left over from the presidency of former President Joe Biden.

Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accords, an Obama-era effort, which he said would save the country over a trillion dollars.

Trump also issued a memoranda that implemented a regulatory and hiring freeze on the federal government until the new administration could fully take over.

He also issued an executive order preventing “government censorship” of free speech and he ordered all departments to address inflation, which was sparked by the nearly $2 trillion American Rescue Plan that Biden signed into law in March 2021.

“Could you imagine Biden doing this?” Trump quipped while signing the orders. “I don’t think so.”

After signing the orders, Trump began heading back to the White House where he is expected to sign more than 200 additional executive orders undoing Biden’s legacy.
