Multiple world leaders congratulated President Donald Trump on his inauguration on Monday and expressed their optimism about the future of Trump’s leadership on the world stage.
Trump was sworn in for his second term at noon and delivered an inaugural address focused on ushering in a “golden age” in America. I look forward to working closely together once again, to benefit both our countries, and to shape a better future for the world. Best wishes for a successful term ahead!” Modi wrote.
Justin Trudeau, the outgoing prime minister of Canada, added, “Congratulations, President Trump. Canada and the U.S. have the world’s most successful economic partnership. We have the chance to work together again — to create more jobs and prosperity for both our nations.” Trudeau met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago in November over Trump’s threat to impose tariffs on Canada and announced his resignation weeks later.
