The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes against targets belonging to Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen during the early morning hours on Thursday after the group fired a missile into Israel that destroyed a school.
“Today, the IDF conducted precise strikes on Houthi military targets in Yemen – including ports and energy infrastructure in Sana’a, which the Houthis have been using in ways that effectively contributed to their military actions,” said IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari. “Israel will not hesitate to act in order to defend itself and its citizens from the Houthi attacks.”
Ramat Gan Mayor Carmel Shama-Hacohen said that the damage to the multistory Ramat Ef’al elementary school would need to be entirely rebuilt after sustaining millions of dollars in damage from the Houthi missile strike. No one was inside the building when it was hit.

Israel’s military said that its strikes against the Houthis involved 14 fighter jets that were deployed in two waves — the first of which targeted the ports of Hodeida, Salif, and the Ras Isa oil terminal, while the second targeted energy infrastructure in Sanaa.

“After Hamas, Hezbollah and the Assad regime in Syria, the Houthis are almost the last remaining arm of Iran’s axis of evil,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “They are learning and they will learn the hard way, that whoever harms Israel pays a very heavy price for it.”
The Houthis have fired more than 200 ballistic missiles and launched more than 170 suicide drones at Israel, in addition to the scores of attacks that the terrorist group has launched against cargo ships and oil tankers.
