President-elect Donald Trump announced on Monday night that he has selected former Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) to lead the Department of Transportation in his new administration.
“He will ensure our ports and dams serve our Economy without compromising our National Security, and he will make our skies safe again by eliminating DEI for pilots and air traffic controllers,” he said.
Trump said that Duffy will prioritize “excellence, competence, competitiveness, and beauty” while rebuilding America’s infrastructure.
“Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant, starting his career as a District Attorney for Ashland, Wisconsin, and later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District,” Trump said.
Trump said that Duffy was well-liked in Congress by both political parties and has worked well with Democrats to get major infrastructure projects passed.
“As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Sean played a key role in shaping and strengthening Economic policies, and ensuring Transparency and Accountability in Government programs,” Trump said. “Sean’s leadership extended to championing the needs of families, farmers, and small businesses, especially in rural communities.”
The father of nine currently hosts “The Bottom Line” on Fox Business and is married to Fox News personality Rachel Campos-Duffy.

Duffy joins a dozen other nominees that Trump has selected that require Senate confirmation, including Marco Rubio for Secretary of State, Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, John Ratcliffe for CIA Director, Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, Lee Zelda for EPA Secretary, Elise Stefanik for U.N. Ambassador, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for HHS Secretary, Doug Burgum for Secretary of Interior, Doug Collins for Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and Chris Wright for Secretary of Energy.
