Vice President Kamala Harris failed to over-perform President Joe Biden’s 2020 numbers in all 50 states — and in all but a few of the nation’s 3,143 counties — in Tuesday’s presidential election.

CNN’s John King went over the numbers with anchor Jake Tapper, who appeared to be shocked by the news.

Tapper pressed King to show viewers where Harris had done well — and specifically where she had made gains on President Biden’s performance in 2020 — and when King pulled up the map, Tapper just responded, “Holy smokes!”

“You asked: Are there any places that the vice president is overperforming Joe Biden in 2020? So we can show you that as well. We just bring that out here. Harris over-performing 2020,” King said, and the map he revealed — which showed every area in which Harris had out-performed Biden by three percent or more — was solid grey.

“Holy smokes!” Tapper exclaimed. “Literally nothing?”

“Literally nothing,” King agreed.

“Literally not one county?” Tapper pressed further, and King corrected him, noting that the current map only showed states. He then switched to a second map, which did show the counties in which Harris had out-performed Biden by at least three percent, and the number was equally shocking: Harris had done better than her boss in just 58 out of more than 4,000 counties.

“So in counties, in 58 counties. We just showed Donald Trump was over a thousand counties of the 4,600 counties and townships across America,” King explained.

“There might be more out here on the West Coast, possibly one or two more as they finish the count here, but in the states that matter — again, I just showed you all those Trump counties — in one county in battleground Pennsylvania, she’s outperforming President Biden by 3% or more,” King continued.

Trump was declared the winner by multiple outlets in the early hours of Wednesday morning, after voters handed him decisive victories in both the Electoral College and the popular vote.
