MSNBC viewers were treated to a trailer for the hit Daily Wire documentary “Am I Racist?” while they were watching “The Rachel Maddow Show” last night.
Rachel Maddow was discussing the upcoming presidential election before the show cut to commercial and the “Am I Racist?” ad played, as a recorded clip circulating on X showed. The “Am I Racist?” ad also played during a break from Joy Reid’s show “The ReidOut.”

It wasn’t just Maddow. @realDailyWire got an ad for “Am I Racist?” on @JoyAnnReid too. I bet Joy is super excited about the movie @MattWalshBlog! https://t.co/kxldMsWbui pic.twitter.com/00iJ0ghhyB

The movie’s star Matt Walsh shared a screenshot of one irate reaction that said, “Why the flying f*** did I see a trailer for that f***ing Matt Walsh pseudo-movie on MSNBC? Jesus f***,” with the eyeroll emoji. Walsh’s caption said, “Sorry I thought you guys would like it.”
“That post alone was worth whatever the ad spend was lol,” one commenter said, while so many others complimented Walsh and The Daily Wire’s expert-level trolling prowess.
“It’s so easy to trigger liberals… and it’s free entertainment,” another person agreed.
MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+
The podcast host also mentioned how the MSNBC audience is exactly the same people who should be watching the film. “Really want to thank Rachel Maddow for helping us get the word out! MSNBC’s viewers all support the DEI candidate so we figured they’d be interested in our DEI film,” he wrote in another tweet.
The ad on MSNBC was the latest troll from Walsh to promote his film. Earlier this year at the Democratic National Convention, Walsh appeared in character as a DEI expert on national TV and also got leftist reporter Don Lemon to promote his Project2025 flyers, which actually just directed people to “Am I Racist?”
The face of Walsh’s character also crashed ESPN’s “College Gameday” in September.
“Am I Racist?” is the most successful release in DailyWire+ history, performing even better on its first day of streaming than previous hits including Matt Walsh’s 2022 documentary “What is a Woman?” and the comedy “Lady Ballers” in 2023.
Even before it headed to the DailyWire+ streaming platform, “Am I Racist?” was a huge success as the company’s first theatrical release for an in-house production. It outperformed expectations at the box office, grossing more than $12 million and debuting in the top five films in the country on its opening weekend. “Am I Racist?” also became the top-grossing documentary of the decade.
The film featured Walsh going undercover in the world of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to expose the grift of the race hustlers profiting off people’s emotions through deception.
“Am I Racist?” has a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes with more than 2,500 verified reviews.
