Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville went a long way down the rabbit hole during a Sunday morning appearance on MSNBC, arguing that former President Donald Trump would use the U.S. military to “round up” people he didn’t like if he won re-election in November.

Carville, whose animated speech and thick Louisiana accent long ago earned him the nickname “the Ragin’ Cajun,” sat down with former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to discuss the imminent presidential election and what he believed could happen if Vice President Kamala Harris were to lose.

“Just think of what we learned in the last 48 hours,” he said. “We had General Flynn say that the gates of hell are gonna rain on Trump’s enemies when he wins. We had General Milley say that he’s a fascist to his core. We heard Trump on Fox this morning say he was going to use the military to round up his political enemies.”

“Trump has announced that he will be giving a speech at Madison Square Garden on October the 27th,” Carville continued. “Please Google Madison Square Garden February the 10th 1939, and see what happened there. They are telling you exactly what they are going to do.”

Carville argued that because Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler had given a speech in 1939 — just months prior to his September 1939 invasion of Poland — that meant that Trump could not possibly be holding a rally at the same location prior to the election for any reason other than to telegraph to his supporters that he planned to “institute a fascist regime” in the United States.

“They’re telling you, ‘We’re going to institute a fascist regime’ and the press and all the Alan Dershowitz wannabes out there say, ‘But James. she should have gone to the Al Smith dinner,’” Carville complained. “Or, ‘really, she doesn’t do enough long-form interviews.’ I’m so sick of these people, the entire Constitution is in jeopardy.”

He concluded by claiming that because of its ruling on presidential immunity, the Supreme Court — specifically Justice Clarence Thomas — had “green-lighted” Trump’s alleged plan to round people up and use the military to do it. He even went so far as to suggest that Trump would target young black men and round them up first.
