American Solutions Meeting with Newt Gingrich
This previous Wed. American Solutions had 3 meetings in Irvine, CA. First he met with leaders from the Tea Party movement behind closed doors. Then he met with 30 Orange County business leaders (this was the meeting that I was invited to, for a round-table discussion on how to jump-start our economy and promote job-growth). The day was concluded with a town hall meeting.
Speaking with some people I know that were in the Tea Party movement, I was told that Newt just does not seem to "get it" when they tried to explain he is not going to be supported by the grassroots groundswell.
The economic round-table in my opinion was just a waste of time. American Solutions has outlined a perfect policy platform for stimulating growth...a common-sense conservative approach. My position has always been that substituting another system within a corrupted body, will only corrupt the new system. I brought this up to Newt in which he replied: "well, we have to start somewhere".
Yes, we do! We need to start with the foundation before we build the house! In my opinion government reform precedes policy!
The Town Hall meeting was great though. Approximately 700 people were in attendance along with Fox News (as this event was shown on the Hannity Show....their cameras are located in the upper-right of this picture, where the bright lights were being shown upon Newt for the broadcast).
Newt as a speaker was very intelligent, composed, humorous, engaging, and informative. Two points were brought up that are important to us all. I made an inquiry about the future of Health Care Reform and Cap and Trade.
1. Newt does not believe that they can legally re-construct the health care bill to force it upon us via the nuclear option. As such, he believes it to be dead.
2. Obama has threatened the American people saying that "if we do not pass Cap and Trade, then I will turn it over to the EPA...and trust me, you will not want that"! (I have never heard a President threaten the American people before, but that is a direct quote, straight out of Obama's mouth). Newt said that Cap and Trade and the EPA involvement in evoking it is going to be our biggest problem, and that the only hope of stopping it is to have Congress not appropriate the funding for it. So, this will be our next major effort in the near future.
3. I asked Newt about Agenda 21. He looked me straight in the eye and said he had never heard of it. He lied. He is one of the most knowledgeable politicians in America, and he was in office during this time period. It is inconceivable that he has no knowledge of Agenda 21. Normaly I do not use my feelings to make judgements, but I have always had a feeling about Newt...for some reason he always reminded me of a slimy water lizard. Any rate it is good to see that now I have evidence to distrust this guy. Good vid Giterdone! It is also quite surprising he said he had never heard of Agenda 21. I can imagine the look on your face when he said that. At this point in time I feel a fool for not getting behind Ron Paul.

Thank you for your post. You are absolutely right. I am sick to death of people blindly following 'their guy' because he's the exception to the rule. You can not repair a broken system from within because you are being resisted by the very people who should be helping you. We must demand principle and reform from our leaders and put our efforts elsewhere if they refuse.
Frankly, Mr. Gingrich's response was condescending and inappropriate. It is also typical of those already established in power. We need to start from the ground up to repair the damage done to our government and liberties. It will not happen in half-measures and baby steps.
Please keep up your hard work and know that you are doing the right thing. I don't participate actively in the posts on your site, but I do pass on your links and info as I get them. My own efforts on the culture and art front are starting to take off this year and I look forward to our mutual success. Thanks again for the heads up. I will remove Newt from my list of people to contact as it will obviously be a waste of my time.

I will be emailing this to all my contacts. This guy is a slime ball and his true progressive direction for the US needs to be spread far and wide.
